As fun as Twitch St Louis was, it was great to be back in the kitchen this week. It was great to see all of the Bearded Family again and to have a couple of new folks join the fold. Continue reading “RECIPES FROM 3/4/2017”
I knew this day was coming….
I am a little disappointed, but not truly surprised. It was a hectic week and I did a lot of things wrong. I stayed up too late over all and there was this whole matter of heading out to St Louis for the Twitch Meetup. There was a lot of overeating occurring there. But I mean, with food like this can you really blame me.
So…I’m up from last week and this is not great…but also not unexpected and not the last word. I just have to refocus and get back on track. Which is oddly hard this week…
Oh boy oh boy team…I’m getting pretty close to a fairly significant milestone! Just take a look at THIS….
I’m just a scant two pounds to a full 20 pound loss!
Twenty pounds is a little over 1/5th of the way to my target loss… I just wrote that last sentence and then rechecked my math. If my target weight loss was to get to 260lbs, then technically I’ve ALREADY hit 20% of my goal. HOLY CRAP!! I can’t believe that just a little self-control and a few minor dietary changes can make such a difference and honestly, there’s a part of me that is perhaps rethinking my goal. Maybe it’s not brutal enough?
I am really, actually, surprisingly, looking forward to better weather and getting outside to try an accelerate this process with a little exercise (I took a short walk in last week’s 60 degree weather, and my feet and knees still ended up hurting pretty badly that evening).
Also, I’m debating the idea of rewarding myself with a fast food run when I hit 20 pounds down. What do you think? Good idea? Bad? Unnecessary? I’m interested in your thoughts on this.
Anyway, I’m feeling really great right now and I’m excited to see if I can maybe even get to 21 pounds loss for next weeks wight in.
Also, I REALLY want to thank the people that have reached out to congratulate and encourage. I wish I could explain what that means to me mentally. Suffice it to say, it really means a lot. Thanks all. See you next week.
I was really nervous to make these dishes this week. I’d never done any Brazilian cooking and I had no point of reference for taste, texture, or aesthetic on the dishes. I’d also never done an all-bean fritter (which was surprisingly tasty!) Continue reading “RECIPES FROM 2/18/2017”
I’m excited to share this week. I felt no different this week as I got onto the scale, but clearly I’m doing something right as I had a pretty big drop. Continue reading “Fat Guy In a Little Coat #6”
After some pretty big technical issues, I finally got to streaming this week and (barring a couple of trolls) I think it went pretty well. The gyro soup and blooming onion came out really good! AND I got to drink Bordeaux wine (Pappa’s favorite). Continue reading “RECIPES FROM 2/11/2017”
Well, I knew this day was coming. I’ve had a good run of pretty decent loss. But Last week proved to be too much I guess. I was hoping to not reach a plateau for at least another 10 pounds, but things are what they are. Continue reading “Fat Guy In a Little Coat #5”
Saturday was quite the adventure, eh? Had my first guest host in Nana Beren, we had some excellent laughs and made some awesome chili. Continue reading “RECIPES FROM 2/4/2017”
I really thought last week was going to be the first week of no visible progress. I just felt fat getting on the scale this week (I mean, more fat? er?) and I was pretty sure that I was going to see no loss or worse, a little gain. Continue reading “FGIaLC #4”
